Aspire Head Office, Newcastle under Lyme

Newcastle under Lyme Councils housing department was being set up as a separate company known as Aspire Housing and they needed a new headquarters. They purchased 'Kingsley' on the The Brampton, that was formerly used by the Milk Marketing Board. The brief was to provide office space, customer reception and interview rooms, conference rooms, a call centre and staff restaurant.

By adapting and developing the original buildings, the brief was met. Careful refurbishment of the original building known as Kingsley was undertaken with consideration given to the conservation of the original features, such as paster cornices, decorative skylights, exposed king post timber trusses and sash windows.

The main entrance was designed to complement the existing building by introducing banding to the brickwork, to reflect the recessed banding in the existing rendered walls of Kingsley. The main entrance can be seen from the Brampton at the bottom of the entrance drive, thus giving a clear direction for customers and visitors as they approach.

Completed 2003.
